The Duomo in Florence

This 3-hour Private Orientation Walking Tour aims to give you an in-depth understanding of the ancient city with its magnificent Cathedral, the Duomo and the Baptistery with Ghiberti's exquisite bronze doors.

We first visit inside the Duomo where we take a close look at the architectural techniques Brunelleschi used to build the dome. Next on the tour are some of the city's stunning piazzas, starting with Santa Croce and its awe-inspiring church - home to some of Giotto's most beautiful frescoes.

Then it is on to Piazza della Signoria...the city's political center both ancient and modern...where the imposing Palazzo Vecchio stands.

We then walk down to Ponte Vecchio where we can take in magnificent views before heading for the Accademia Museum where we will see Michelangelo's David - bypassing the queue lines with our pre-booked tickets!

We'll introduce you to Florentine culture, let you taste our wines and crostini, and show you the typical craftsmen shops which affirmed Florentine economy from the very beginning - that is, textile manufacturing, leathergoods, silverware, Florentine mosaics, wooden frames, and ceramics.
