The Leaning Tower of Pisa

Continue your tour and as you arrive in Florence, enjoy a glorious panorama of the city from the Piazzale Michelangelo. Shortly thereafter, commence your walking exploration of the city's magnificent highlights. Visit the Galleria dell'Academia, where Michelangelo's towering statue of David stands in a rotunda. It is the focal point of a long gallery lined with Michelangelo's unfinished -slaves-.

After the Academy you will casually stroll to the famous Duomo of St. Maria del Fiore. Known simply as Il Duomo, the arched roof is one of the world's largest unsupported structures and was a symbol of the city's great power in the 13th century. You will also see Giotto's Bell Tower, the Baptistery and the Piazza della Signoria.

Continue to the enormous Piazza di Santa Croce. Once used to execute heretics, the square now boasts numerous charming boutiques. At the eastern boundary of the square is the famous Chiesa di Santa Croce, where Giotto frescoes decorate the interior. Michelangelo, Machiavelli, Rossini and Galileo are all interred in this church. After touring this house of worship, enjoy shopping or exploring independently.

Finally, relax as your driver makes his way across the Tuscan countryside to Livorno.
